Seabeck Bald Eagles (May 1, 2025)
We’re headed back into the time of year where the tides co-operate and the eagles congregate during low tide near Seabeck. I’ve been monitoring it, and on May 1, I spent a bit of time there at a major low time (-2) with a nice group of about ten eagles, plus over a dozen Great Blue Herons, and the usual crews of crows, ravens and ducks.
It was a nice day, but cloudless, so the light had some glare, and it was warm enough to create some heat haze. I got there later than I’d hoped, so we were already past -1 feet on the low tide, so the birds were fairly far out. Despite all of that, I was able to get some decent, but not incredible, shots with a few good action pictures. As the tides cooperate, I hope to get out there often this summer and we’ll see what I can create out there with the birds.
