Bees!
Well, technically bumblebees. Our Lavender and our Fuschias are doing very well this year, and because of that, we have very happy bees. Many of them. I’ve been meaning to sit and try to photograph them, and today, I finally got around to it, and I was not disappointed. It seems we have two different species here, Yellow-faced Bumblebee (Bombus vosnesenskii) and Fuzzy-horned Bumblebee (Bombus mixtus). And they’re happy, busy little bees.
This is quite different from my normal photography, and it took a bit to get into the swing of things, but after ten minutes or so I started nailing the focus more reliably and timing their activity better. And I had a lot of fun doing it. I also rarely seem to shoot vertical format, but when I looked at these, it was the obvious aspect ratio for these things.
